Elite Summer Training Program
This program includes 3 fifty minute ice sessions and 3 60 minute dry-land training session each week for 5 weeks. Each session is limited to 10 skaters and two goalies. Players will be on the ice with two instructors, providing unparalleled supervision and correction, with an ideal work to rest ratio. Dry-land training will include a wide variety or training techniques designed to improve players strength, agility, speed, coordination, and quickness. This program will be conducted at the Graf Rink in July and August. Two groups of 12 players (10 skaters, 2 goalies) will be accepted. Group 1: High School - open to players birth year 95-99
Group 2: AAA Youth - open to players birth year 00-03
Group 1 typical schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings (8:00-8:50am on-ice, 9:00-10:00am dry-land)
Group 2 typical schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings (10:00-10:50am on-ice, 11:00-12:00pm dry-land)
Elite Day Camp
Each day at the Spencer Hockey Day Camp includes a curriculum of progressive skating, puck-handling, battle drills and small area games, presented in a fun and challenging environment. Each day includes 3 hours of on-ice training, and 3 hours of off-ice training (dryland training, team building exercises and fun activities). Limited to 32 skaters.
AAA Elite Day Camp
Each day at the Spencer Hockey Day Camp includes a curriculum of progressive skating, puck-handling, battle drills and small area games, presented in a fun and challenging environment. Each day will include 4 hours of up-tempo on-ice training and 3 hours of off-ice training. Off-ice activities include dynamic strength and plyometric exercise, conditioning, and sports psychology activities, along with detailed hockey-specific training techniques players can utilize at home.
Dynamic Hockey Skating
Our Dynamic Hockey Skating curriculum takes “power skating” into the 21st century. The Spencer Hockey version of power skating keeps players engaged by enabling them to compete, pass, and shoot during drills designed specifically to work on edge control, acceleration, agility, and over-speed techniques. Our small group format allows us to tailor each drill to the skill level of a specific group. From Mites to Juniors, players of all levels will benefit immensely from this clinic. Limited to 32 skaters.
Total Defense
Our Total Defense Clinic caters to the player that wants to improve their skills on both the offensive and defensive side of the puck. We stress proper body position and posture, backwards skating and agility, battle techniques and gap control. Other points of emphasis are passing and creating offensive chances from the point position. Players will practice these techniques in skill-specific drills, then put them to use in a series of battles and small area games. This clinic is a must for any player that plays defense, or any forward that would like to improve their play in the defensive zone. Limited to 32 skaters.
Body Contact and Battle Techniques
Our Body Contact and Battle Techniques clinic introduces players to Proper body contact and battle techniques. Players will compete in a variety of drills and games to focus on variousparts of the physical aspect of the game. Safety, body posture and positioning, angling, fighting for position and space, shoulder checks, hip checks, balance and scoring under pressure are just a few of the topics covered during this clinic. A series of battle drills and small area games allow players to utilize these techniques in game-like situations each week. Limited to 32 skaters.
Puck-handling and Shooting
Players will improve their stickhandling, passing, and shooting during an array of drills designed to increase puck awareness, puck control, scoring, head’s up skating and confidence. Limited to 32 skaters.
Total Hockey Development Clinic
Our Total Hockey Development Clinic includes curriculum highlights from all of our other clinics. Players enrolled will have an opportunity to improve all aspects of their game, and compete with other players in battle drills and small area games. Each session will include skill specific drills to work on skating, puck-handling, shooting and passing. Limited to 32 skaters.
Goalie Camps
Goalie instruction will be provided by Rob Day/Puckstoppers Goaltending.
Our goalie camps will run concurrently with our player camps. There will be allotted time and stations for goalies to work on goalie specific skills.
